Vision and Objectives
Our vision is to work together to provide high quality primary care services for people living on the Isle of Wight.
We have the following key objectives:
1. Support and strengthen primary care
We aim to support practices to improve the quality and safety of services to patients, reduce any variation in service delivery and address workload and capacity issues. By working together, we can learn from each other, share best practice and meet the challenges facing us in the changing world of health and care.
2. Ensure the sustainability of general practice on the Island
We want to ensure that we have sustainable GP practices by working innovatively together and exploring new ways of working. We aim to help practices to optimise workflow, signpost more appropriately, introduce digital technology, reduce costs and duplication and increase efficiency. We also want to support the people who work in them to access a wide range of professional support and advice, enhancing their skills and widening the range of services they can offer to patients.
3. Shape the future of general practice on the Island
We aim to help negotiate and facilitate change and guide practices as we explore how we need to organise and shape our services to enable us to continue to meet our local populations’ needs. We also aim to give GPs and their practices a voice as the wider healthcare system is developed and shaped for the future.
4. Build a sustainable GP federation
We aim to proactively seek out new business, new partnership working and new contracts, to create income streams that enable the federation to sustain itself, so it can deliver on its promises and continue to progress and innovate.
